Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

What information do we collect about you? We hold some personally identifiable information about you, such as your full name, phone number, email address, or similar. These details are only collected on completing our “contact us” form and submitting membership requests.  Personally identifiable information is displayed about our members on our “Members Directory” page.  This Personal Data is freely provided by you the User.

How We Share Your Information.

Personally Identifiable Information: BHSMA will not rent or sell your personally identifiable information to others. We may store personal information in locations outside the direct control of BHSMA (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers). Any personally identifiable information you elect to make publicly available on our Site, such as posting comments on our blog page and our members directory, will be available to others. If you remove information that you have made public on our Site, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of our Site, or if other users have copied or saved that information.

Your information collected through the BHSMA website is stored and processed within the EU and in accordance with GDPR.

How We Protect Your Information

BHSMA is concerned with protecting your privacy and data, but we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to BHSMA may not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of any of our industry standard physical, technical or managerial safeguards. When you enter personally identifiable information our Data Processor Resolution Television Ltd encrypts that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and use a third party firewall. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore,  both the Data Controller and Data Processor cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you have any questions about security on our Site, you can contact us. Our website does not request or store any sensitive information.

Compromise of Personal Information

In the event that personal information is compromised as a breach of security, BHSMA will promptly notify our customers in compliance with applicable law.

Notification Procedures

It is our policy to provide notifications, whether such notifications are required by law or are for marketing or other business related purposes, to you via email, written or hard copy notice, or through conspicuous posting of such notice on the Service, as determined by BHSMA in its sole discretion. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register as a member on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile and display contact information on the websites “member directory” page. All users can request to see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Retention time

The Data is kept for the time necessary to provide the service requested by the User, or stated by the purposes outlined in this document, and the User can always request that the Data Controller suspend or remove the data.

We will retain personal data we process on behalf of our customers for as long as needed to provide our services. BHSMA will retain this personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

 

What rights you have over your data

If you have a membership through this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

The Data Controller reserves the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time by giving notice to its Users on this page. It is strongly recommended to check this page often, referring to the date of the last modification listed at the top.
